Epstein Survivors Slam AG Nominee Blanche Amid Privacy Fears

Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's horrific abuse have voiced strong criticism regarding Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche's recent testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. They accuse Blanche, who is seeking confirmation as Attorney General, of being less than forthcoming and handling sensitive information in a manner that re-traumatizes victims.

During the two days of testimony, several Epstein survivors attended, with some describing Blanche's statements as "bulls***" and his approach as "disgusting." A key point of contention is Blanche's apparent refusal to meet with survivors directly and his stance that no more files related to Epstein will be released by the Justice Department. Many survivors have stated that the Justice Department has consistently refused to meet with them.

Danielle Bensky, a survivor who testified as a witness against Blanche, shared a powerful account of her experience. She highlighted how Blanche's actions led to the release of child sexual abuse material and the exposure of identifying information of over a hundred victims, including her own, in documents detailing intimate acts of abuse. Bensky expressed outrage that the individual responsible for this release is now being considered for the highest position in law enforcement.

Adding to the pressure, Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) questioned Blanche on his willingness to meet with survivors. Blanche claimed he is prohibited from doing so, though he mentioned meeting with survivors' legal counsel. However, Marina Lacerda, one of the ten survivors present, directly challenged this, stating, "It is not illegal. We can meet with you, Mr. Todd Blanche, at any time with legal counsel or without, so we're more than willing to talk to you about new inf[ormation]."

In a significant development, Republican Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina has threatened to block Blanche's nomination. Tillis explicitly stated, "I expect that meeting to occur before I’m willing to vote out of this committee," making it clear that a meeting with Epstein survivors is a prerequisite for his support. This bipartisan pressure underscores the gravity of the survivors' concerns and the public's demand for accountability and transparency.
