An aide said: 'Undoubtedly this is a huge moment for the princess. This being her first international visit since her illness is a really significant moment for her, and there will be many highlights of 2026.' The trip is framed as the start of a broader effort to turn her childhood-education campaign into a worldwide conversation, with Catherine seeking out models from around the world that might inform her ongoing work.
In Reggio Emilia, she will engage with educators, parents and children at schools and projects to understand the city’s distinctive approach to early years learning and to explore how such models can influence practice elsewhere.
