SpaceX IPO hints spark market buzz for 2026 listing
Musk hints SpaceX could go public in 2026 as reports surface of a multi-billion IPO and banks gearing up for the historic listing.
SpaceX is eyeing a 2026 public listing after reports that the company plans to raise more than $25 billion, potentially valuing it at over $1 trillion. On Wednesday, Elon Musk sparked intrigue by replying to an Ars Technica piece with a nod to its accuracy, saying, 'As usual, Eric is accurate.' This fueled speculation that SpaceX could go public in the near future.
Bloomberg News and Reuters have reported that SpaceX has begun discussions with banks about launching the offering around June or July next year, signaling a concrete push toward a historic IPO.
If true, the listing would be among the largest in history, possibly the second-richest ever after Saudi Aramco’s $1.7 trillion debut, and would reshape not just the aerospace sector but the broader tech and investment landscape.
SpaceX remains the world’s second-most-valuable private startup, trailing only OpenAI, according to Crunchbase data. The potential public debut would mark a significant transition for the rocket maker and its founder, Elon Musk. SpaceX did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
