Controversial Figure Joins White House Press Team: Beni Rae Harmony Appointed
Beni Rae Harmony, known for controversial views and a 'f*** Biden' shirt, is Trump's new Assistant Press Secretary. Dive into her background and the buzz around her appointment!
Beni Rae Harmony, a 24-year-old former reporter for Real America's Voice, has been appointed as the new Assistant Press Secretary for President Donald Trump's White House communications team. Her appointment, announced on Friday, comes amidst a staff shakeup that saw the departure of former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in August. Harmony's new role has quickly drawn attention due to her past activities and affiliations.
Anti-MAGA accounts on Instagram resurfaced a photo from 2021 showing Harmony posing with a rifle while wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with "f*** Joe Biden." The image, initially posted by former Republican Virginia congressional candidate Jarome Bell, carried the caption, "My campaign Public Affairs Director @beniraeharmony is a beast. This is how we roll." Harmony's Instagram account reportedly liked the post.
Prior to joining Trump's team, Harmony was a Senior White House Correspondent for Real America's Voice, a far-right broadcaster known for airing shows like Steve Bannon's and The Charlie Kirk Show. She also has deep ties to conservative youth activism, having worked at Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA organization in 2020 and 2021, and considering Kirk a "mentor." Her professional background also includes internships with Arizona Republican Congressman Paul Gosar and former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz.
Harmony stated that her goal as a reporter was
to ask questions that matter to real Americans and make sure their voices are heard.
Expressing gratitude, she wrote, "I'm incredibly grateful to President Trump for this opportunity and his trust." She also controversially claimed that she was suspended from her previous employment at WICS-ABC20 in Springfield, Illinois, for sharing an unprompted on-air tribute to Kirk following his 2025 assassination, a decision she defended as "non-partisan." The White House has welcomed Harmony's addition to the team.
Anna Kelly, the White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary, confirmed the appointment, stating, "Beni Rae Harmony has been a trusted voice for the MAGA movement as a White House correspondent.
She will be an outstanding addition to President Trump's communications team as an assistant press secretary.
We look forward to having her on board.” Harmony may have caught President Trump's attention during a recent trip to Ireland, where she was present as a reporter on Air Force One. Her appointment signals a continued effort by the Trump administration to bring voices aligned with the "MAGA movement" into key communication roles.
