Deported! Milo Yiannopoulos Kicked Out of US After Overstaying Visa

British right-wing political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. The self-styled provocateur, aged 41, was sent back to his home country on Friday, August 29, 2026, after having "chosen to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation's laws," according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Yiannopoulos, once a prominent editor at Breitbart News and a former political aide to rapper Kanye West, was arrested on August 27 after arriving at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. He had initially flown into the US in May 2019 and remained there illegally.

This situation presents a stark irony, as Yiannopoulos has been a vocal advocate for strict US immigration controls, even calling for "total legal immunity for ICE agents" and

on the spot deportation for anyone who can't prove they are in the US legally.

He famously posted on social media in 2025, "We have got to deport millions and millions of people.

Without that, nothing else matters."

Known for his provocative statements and for calling himself the "most fabulous supervillain on the internet," Yiannopoulos has frequently courted controversy. His critics have often labeled him a purveyor of hate speech due to his comments on various groups, including transgender people, Muslims, Black Lives Matter activists, feminists, and gay individuals.

Politically, Yiannopoulos was an early and ardent supporter of Donald Trump during the 2016 election cycle, even headlining a "Gays for Trump" event at the Republican National Convention that year. However, his stance has evolved, and he has since become a critic of the former US president, despite still voicing support for some of Trump's broader agenda.

In March of this year, he posted on X that Trump had "lost his way, bought off by foreign interests."

Originally from Kent in the south of England, Yiannopoulos's deportation marks a significant turn for the figure who has often leveraged his platform to discuss and criticize immigration policies, only to find himself on the receiving end of the very system he championed.
