Comedian Peter Kay recently delighted viewers by gatecrashing a live BBC weather report, creating a memorable moment of spontaneous television. During BBC North West Tonight's weather segment, presenter Molly Brewer was detailing a yellow weather warning when the 53-year-old comic unexpectedly appeared on screen.

Without missing a beat, Kay walked in front of the camera, settled onto the floor, and humorously declared, "Go on Molly, I'll sit here, I'll not disturb you." Brewer, visibly trying to contain her laughter, continued with her report, even handing Kay her clicker, which he used to change the on-screen graphics.

With rain forecast, Kay jovially advised viewers to "get your central heating on now."

This isn't the first time the Bolton-born comedian has made an unscheduled appearance during a weather forecast. Back in 2011, he famously crawled onto the screen during a report by the late Dianne Oxberry for the same programme, prompting a good-natured retort from Oxberry that she would

come to one of your concerts and come on stage and just creep in alongside you.

Beyond his playful on-air stunts, Kay has been on a record-breaking arena tour for the past four years, which is set to conclude in November at Blackpool's Opera House. Notably, all proceeds from his 2026 shows are dedicated to supporting 12 different cancer charities, including Children With Cancer UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kidney Cancer UK, Prostate Cancer UK, and Ovarian Cancer Action.
