Joining as a player in 2008 and transitioning to head coach in 2009, he guided CSK to an astonishing five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 titles. Under his leadership, the team reached the playoffs a record 12 times and featured in 10 IPL finals, establishing CSK as a perennial powerhouse in franchise cricket.
However, recent times have seen Fleming under increasing scrutiny. While the team secured a title in 2023, there have been discussions around two disappointing IPL seasons, with some critics suggesting the team struggled to keep pace with the evolving T20 landscape. Furthermore, Fleming's leadership of other franchises, such as Joburg Super Kings in SA20 and Texas Super Kings (TSK) in Major League Cricket, hasn't yielded similar success, with TSK notably finishing last in MLC this year.
