The Delhi High Court has granted interim relief to Karisma Kapoor’s children and Sunjay Kapur’s mother in a dispute over Sunjay Kapur’s estate, amid allegations of a forged will by Priya Sachdev Kapur. The court restrained the widow from creating third-party rights over the assets and directed preservation of assets pending trial.
In its order, the court also directed the filing of account statements and placed restrictions on foreign bank accounts and cryptocurrency holdings associated with the estate, aiming to prevent any dissipation of assets during the proceedings. The relief comes as the family members petitioned against Priya Sachdev Kapur, seeking to safeguard the late industrialist’s assets while challenging the alleged will.
The case underscores the ongoing tussle within a prominent business family and signals the court’s intent to maintain the status quo on estate assets as investigations continue. Further hearings are expected as both sides prepare their arguments and present documentary evidence related to the will and asset ownership.
