Delhi Techie Dies After Alleged Assault by In-Laws Over Dispute

A tragic incident unfolded in outer Delhi’s Nihal Vihar, where a 31-year-old software engineer, Vinay Gupta, allegedly died after being severely assaulted by his wife’s family members. The incident on Friday stemmed from a matrimonial dispute between Gupta and his wife at their residence.

According to police, a heated argument broke out between the couple on Friday morning. Following the altercation, Gupta’s wife reportedly called her family members, who then arrived at the couple’s home. It was during this confrontation that Gupta was allegedly attacked, sustaining injuries that later proved fatal.

Vinay Gupta, a resident of Laxmi Park, was employed as a software engineer with an MNC in Noida. He had been married for approximately three and a half years and leaves behind four-and-a-half-month-old twin children, a boy and a girl. His wife is a homemaker.

Police have confirmed that four individuals have been detained for questioning in connection with the case. While no arrests have been made yet, a case has been registered under sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as the investigation continues into this distressing event.
