Why Are Such Ugly Cars Being Allowed to be Sold
Why Are Such Ugly Cars Being Allowed to be Sold
From Hyundai Syros to MG Hector and the Thar ROXX, see why these rides spark debate.
My eyes are bleeding. I miss the old days. I miss Jeremy Clarkson calling a car "a toad" to its face, it was the Fiat Panda or Punto Today, Indian auto journalists are so spineless. They see a car that looks like a crushed tin can and say, "The design is... polarizing but bold." Abbe chal na! Bold? It’s ugly. Period. Here is my list of the most "aankhon mein chubhne wali" cars on our roads today.

1. Hyundai Syros
I don’t know what Hyundai was smoking. This car is so ugly that even if they give a 90% discount, people will still look away. It looks like a box that got confused halfway through becoming a car. Bilkul kachra design hai. No wonder no one is ready to buy it.

2. MG Hector
The Hector is like a heavy-weight bodybuilder who skipped leg day for ten years. The body is huge, but those tiny, puny tyres? Kya mazaak hai? The side profile is just yucky. It looks like a giant metal bus sitting on cycle wheels.

3. Mahindra Thar ROXX
The 3-door Thar was a legend. The ROXX? It’s a geometry project gone wrong. That side profile with the triangle cut at the rear looks so out of place. It’s like they had extra metal and didn't know where to stick it. Designers ne dimaag nahi, sirf scale chalaya hai.

4. Mahindra XUV700
I know, I know, everyone loves this car. But have you looked at the back? The side and rear profiles are just... off. It starts looking premium at the front and ends up looking like a confused minivan at the back. Mahindra tried too hard, and it shows.
5. Honda City
The legend has fallen. You may have copied BMW's brake ligths, but that's not making you look macho. The new City has such small and tiny tyres. It makes the whole car look out of proportion. It looks like a long, elegant boat being carried by four little toothpicks. Honda, thodi toh sharam karo!

8. Citroen Basalt
The French are famous for fashion, right? Then what happened here? The Basalt is a mess. You can’t figure out which part is worse, the front, the back, or the weird middle or side. Overall execution is zero. French design ke naam pe dhokha hai yeh.

7. Mahindra XUV 300 (The Chopped Tail)
Mahindra literally bought Pininfarina, the Italian design house. And they still gave us this? The back looks like someone took a giant knife and chopped the car off because they ran out of parking space. Peeche se bilkul dabba lagti hai.

8. BE 6e Formula Edition
The BE 6e Formula Edition front is a total bhayanak disaster. Those round lights? They look like giant, glowing pimples or eyes from a cheap cartoon robot. Kya mazaak hai! It’s meant to be "racing-inspired," but it just looks like a confused alien.
Spineless Indian journalists call it "futuristic," but Clarkson would’ve called it "rubbish." They’re just scared of losing free snacks at launches. Those circular lights are so out of place; it’s basically a chapri toy from a local mela. Bilkul ghatiya design! Please, stop the lie. It’s just ugly.

9. Honda Amaze
The Amaze looks like a desperate attempt to fit a sedan into a small box, despite several iterations. Indian auto industry norms are also to be blamed for such designs. The boot looks like an afterthought, like it was glued on at the last minute. It’s not a sedan; it’s a hatchback with a growth on its back.

10. Hyundai Aura
Oh man, what was Hyundai thinking? I can’t even watch this car on the road without feeling sad. The rear lights look like they are crying. Honestly, if I see one in my rearview mirror, I speed up just so I don't have to look at it.
The first version of this model when it came a few years back, I felt like puking. Car's like these need to have extra 18% GST put on them, Nimala Tai are you listening.

11. Maruti S-Presso (The "Lord" of Ugly)
Maruti calls this a "Mini SUV." Bhai, kahan se? It looks like an Alto that got stung by a bee and swelled up in all the wrong places. S-presso is cheapness defined. It’s basically a tall box with zero soul. Social media calls it "Lord S-Presso" ironically because looking at it is a spiritual test of patience. Isse accha toh Rickshaw mein baith jao.

12. MG Comet (The Refrigerator on Wheels)
I saw this on the road and thought someone was moving their Godrej fridge to a new house. It has the proportions of a bread box. The wheels are so tiny they look like they were stolen from a supermarket trolley. It’s an EV, sure, but why does it look like a toy that ran out of batteries?
