Guthrie spoke out in an Instagram video, emphasizing that law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock to bring Nancy home, while noting that the family is in an hour of desperation and needs the public’s help. “She was taken and we don’t know where, and we need your help,” she said, adding that viewers should report anything they see or hear to law enforcement, even if they’re far from Tucson. “So I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are — even if you’re far from Tucson — if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.” Guthrie and her siblings have reiterated their belief that their mother is still out there and are holding onto prayers for her return, saying they feel God’s lift even in the darkest moment.
In a later message addressed to the alleged kidnapper, Guthrie and her siblings referenced a communicated message: “We received your message, and we understand,” followed by a direct plea, “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her.” The family has not disclosed any new details about leads or the investigation. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reportedly taken from her home, and law enforcement has not publicly declared a person of interest.
The news has also seen support from Guthrie’s Today co-hosts. Hoda Kotb returned to the show to help cover the missing-person story, emphasizing that the TV family “shows up for each other.” Kotb’s return underscored the broader outpouring of concern and solidarity from colleagues and viewers alike as investigators continue to pursue tips and gather information.
