Two more suspects, a 38-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, have been charged in the Louvre jewel heist, bringing the total charged to four.
Two more suspects, a 38-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, were charged on Saturday in connection with the Louvre jewellery heist, bringing the total charged to four. They were arrested on Wednesday along with three others, though the other three have been released without charge. The new charges include complicity in organised theft and criminal conspiracy with a view to preparing a crime. The woman, who lives in La Courneuve, appeared in court in tears, saying she fears for her children and herself. The magistrate said detention was justified due to a risk of collusion and disturbance of public order. The man, previously known to authorities for theft offences, was placed in pre-trial detention ahead of a hearing in the coming days. Both individuals have denied involvement in the events.
