Mumbai's iconic Bastian Bandra closes after 7 years. Shilpa Shetty confirms the farewell, while Arcane Affair lives on at The Top. A night of memories, magic, and a new chapter begins.
After its final event on Thursday, September 4, Bastian Bandra, which opened in 2016, will close. On her social media accounts, actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, one of its founding members, verified the news. The actress made a statement on Tuesday via her Instagram Stories.
“This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai's most iconic destinations — BASTIAN BANDRA. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city's nightlife now takes its final bow,” she wrote.
Bastian at the Top, the venue's other branch, will continue to operate.
“To honour this legendary space, we're curating a very special evening for our closest patrons — a night filled with nostalgia, energy, and magic, celebrating everything Bastian has stood for one last time. While we say goodbye to BASTIAN BANDRA, our Thursday night ritual Arcane Affair will continue next week at BASTIAN AT THE TOP, carrying forward the legacy in a brand-new chapter with brand new experiences,” she added.
Up until a few years ago, a number of Mumbai celebrities would frequent Bastian Bandra, where throngs of paparazzi would stand outside the eatery in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the stars.
Shilpa Shetty revealed to Zoom that Bastian Bandra paid the most GST in the hospitality industry in 2024. A new branch was opened in 2020 after Shilpa Shetty joined the brand in 2019, and in 2023 it was moved to a rooftop location. Two more branches were established in Bengaluru and Pune in the ensuing years.
The brand reportedly made Rs. 127 crore in revenue during the fiscal year that concluded in March 2024. The brand reportedly made a substantial amount of money each month prior to closing in August 2025; sources estimate that a good month brought in Rs. 10 crore.
A chic culinary era in Mumbai has come to an end with the closure of Shilpa Shetty's restaurant. Fans will miss the distinctive restaurant, but Shilpa's career as an entertainer and businesswoman is far from over. Her ability to reinvent herself suggests that this is only a pause before her next big venture.
