Police crack brutal murder in Sambhal where a wife and her lover killed her husband, dismembered his body, and dumped parts in a drain and a river.
Police in Sambhal cracked a brutal murder case in which a wife, Ruby, and her lover, Gaurav, allegedly killed her husband Rahul Kumar and dismembered the body before disposing of the parts at multiple locations. The investigation began after Ruby filed a missing-person report on November 18, citing that her husband had not returned home.
During inquiry, investigators recovered a mutilated body from a drain near the Eidgah area and later found more body parts in other locations. Police said the body was missing the head, hands, and legs, and the discovery prompted a detailed probe. A grinder and other tools believed to have been used in dismemberment were recovered, along with an iron hammer, police added.
Ruby confessed to the crime in questioning, telling officers that she and Gaurav killed Rahul after he caught them in a compromising situation and threatened to defame her. The couple then allegedly used the grinder to cut the body into pieces and dumped the remains at several spots, including a drain and inside a river.
The case has drawn comparisons with the earlier Meerut “blue drum” murder, where another couple is accused of killing and dismembering a man and disposing of the body parts in a drum. Police described this Sambhal case as mirroring that method and said the investigation is progressing as more details emerge.
Both Ruby and Gaurav were arrested, and the forensic examination and mobile-trace work helped confirm Rahuls’ identity and connection to the missing-person case. The community awaits further updates as investigators piece together the chronology of events and the motive behind the horrifying crime.
