IDBI Bank Q3 PAT Up 1.4%, NII Down 24% as Deposits Grow
IDBI Bank posts a 1.4% YoY rise in Q3 net profit to Rs 1,935 crore, but NII slips 24% even as deposits and advances expand steadily.
IDBI Bank posted a 1.4% year-on-year rise in its December-quarter standalone net profit to Rs 1,935 crore, but the figure was a sharp 47% lower than the previous quarter's Rs 3,627 crore. The bank saw interest income of Rs 7,073.55 crore, down 9% YoY and marginally down 0.4% QoQ, while its net interest income (NII) fell 24% YoY to Rs 3,209 crore. Interest expenditure stood at Rs 3,864.11 crore in Q3FY26, up 8% YoY and 1% QoQ, underscoring the pressure on net margins.
Total business climbed 12% YoY to Rs 5,46,643 crore, with total deposits at Rs 3,07,858 crore (up 9% YoY) and net advances at Rs 2,38,786 crore (up 15% YoY). The composition of corporate versus retail in gross advances stood at 29:71 as of December 31, 2025.
Asset quality improved, with gross NPA at 2.57% (down 100 basis points YoY) and net NPA at 0.18%. Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) stood at 99.33% as on December 31, 2025, compared with 99.47% a year earlier. The bank’s capital position strengthened, with Tier-1 capital at 23.53% and CRAR at 24.63% as on December 31, 2025, up from 19.91% and 21.98% a year earlier, respectively. Risk-weighted assets (RWA) rose to Rs 2,11,567 crore from Rs 1,87,678 crore in the prior year.
