Olivia Rodrigo to Rock Fortnite: Get Ready for New Skins & Jam Tracks!
Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo is officially confirmed to join Fortnite Festival! Expect new Jam Tracks, exclusive skins, and exciting cosmetics soon. Find out what's in store!
Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo is officially confirmed to be heading to Fortnite, bringing her unique style and music to the massively popular game. Fans have been buzzing with anticipation following a series of teasers, and the collaboration is now a certainty, promising an exciting new era for Fortnite players and Rodrigo's loyal fanbase.
Speculation reached a fever pitch after a viral clip featuring Olivia Rodrigo was shared by fan pages over the weekend. In the humorous video, Rodrigo used the popular Eric Mays audio to deny she was just 'playing' on her phone, revealing she was actually 'taking care of business' by starting a game of Fortnite. Adding to the mystery, observant fans also discovered a pink swing hanging from a tree in the game, complete with a knife embedded in the trunk—a clear nod to the distinctive cover art of Rodrigo’s third album, ‘You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.’
While Epic Games has yet to make an official announcement regarding the exact details, this rollout mirrors previous high-profile Fortnite Festival headliners, including Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, and the current headliner, Laufey. Laufey's ‘A Matter Of Time’ experience, originally set to end on July 15, was recently extended to July 29, strongly suggesting that Olivia Rodrigo will take over as the next featured artist immediately after.
The collaboration is expected to launch around July 29, coinciding with Fortnite Festival Season 15. Players can look forward to a comprehensive experience, including more of Rodrigo's hit songs being added as Jam Tracks, along with Rodrigo-inspired skins, emotes, and other cosmetic items. The highly anticipated cosmetic bundle, featuring an Icon Series outfit and back bling, is estimated to cost around 2,500 V-Bucks.
The move highlights Fortnite's continued success in blending gaming with mainstream music culture. Laufey, another artist who recently joined Fortnite Festival, shared her enthusiasm for such collaborations. She told NME, “It’s a collaboration you might not expect from me. When I started out, I was known as this jazz girl and people assumed I was timid and soft. Running around with a gun [in Fortnite] is absolutely the best way to show that there are so many more layers to me.” She also described Fortnite as “fantastical” and a place where dreams can come alive, perfectly aligning with the expressive nature of music.
