Police investigations reveal that the dispute, which escalated fatally, began on Thursday morning. Lepcha, a native of Darjeeling who worked as a waiter, reportedly suspected Subba, a salon receptionist, of being involved with another friend. This suspicion ignited an altercation that turned violent, leading to Subba's death.
During the argument, Lepcha is accused of attacking Subba with a kitchen knife, tragically slitting her throat. The assault proved fatal, and Subba succumbed to her injuries. The couple had recently moved to Bengaluru, approximately a month ago, and were living together in the rented accommodation where the incident occurred.
The grim discovery came to light on Sunday, and authorities swiftly moved to arrest Purba Lepcha.
