R Ashwin has backed Rohit Sharma to rekindle his T20 batting spark this season for Mumbai Indians, saying the veteran can deliver big performances in IPL 2026.
Ashwin highlighted Rohit's recent IPL track record, noting he piled up 835 runs across the last two campaigns with a strike rate close to 150, marking some of his best form in more than a decade with MI.
With Rohit nearing 39, he remains one of the league’s most prolific performers, having amassed 7046 IPL runs in 272 matches and 49 fifty-plus scores.
Ashwin added that Rohit’s confidence and vast experience could translate into a standout campaign, even as his last international appearances—scoring 61 runs in three ODIs against New Zealand—underscore his mixed run.
