Roger Waters' Son Harry Leads New Pink Floyd Show Tour in 2027!
Get ready, Pink Floyd fans! Roger Waters' son Harry is launching 'Legacy', a new North American tour in 2027 celebrating the band's golden era. Experience classic hits like never before!
Legendary Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters and his son Harry Waters have unveiled details for an ambitious new touring production titled 'Legacy, A Pink Floyd Show'. This extensive tour is set to celebrate the iconic band's "golden era" and will kick off in North America in February 2027, with European dates to follow.
The production, conceived under Roger Waters' direction, will see Harry Waters take the helm as musical director, leading a talented 10-piece band on B3 organ, piano, and vocals. Notably, Roger Waters himself is not scheduled to perform in these shows. The 'Legacy' tour promises to immerse audiences in the Pink Floyd experience, focusing specifically on the band's pivotal 1971-1979 period.
Fans can expect to hear meticulously recreated tracks from seminal albums such as 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Animals', and 'The Wall'. Harry Waters emphasized the show's commitment to authenticity, stating,
We are going to authentically recreate the albums as close to note-for-note as we possibly can.
The concerts are designed to run for over two hours, offering a comprehensive musical journey through Pink Floyd's most influential era.
The stage production will feature stunning visuals developed by Roger's team, incorporating imagery inspired by Pink Floyd's original visual work, displayed across high-definition LED screens to enhance the immersive experience. Roger Waters expressed his excitement for the project, noting, “These songs have meant so much to so many people for so many years, and I'm excited for audiences to come together and experience them live again.” He praised his son's efforts, adding, “Harry has assembled a terrific band, and I can't wait for fans around the world to see the special show we've created together.” Harry, who grew up with his father's music and even contributed his childhood voice to Pink Floyd's 'Goodbye Blue Sky', shared his deep connection to the material. “I fell in love with the music immediately.
It really had an impact on me, irrespective of any bias because it was Dad's music. I still love it deeply to this day,” he said. He views the collaboration with his father on 'Legacy' as a significant honor.
The creation of 'Legacy' followed Roger's global search for a vocalist capable of reproducing his original Pink Floyd vocals from five decades ago. Harry meticulously reviewed over 3,000 submissions, ultimately selecting Canadian-born, Nashville-based vocalist Clifton David Broadbridge for the crucial role after an in-person audition.
Harry Waters brings a wealth of experience, having toured with his father for over 15 years, including on 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' and 'The Wall' tours. While he was briefly fired from his father's touring band in 2023, he later played with the Pink Floyd tribute act Brit Floyd before reuniting with his father for this new venture. The tour is slated to visit more than 100 cities across North America and Europe.
