Emraan Hashmi's latest film, "Awarapan 2," has made a blockbuster debut at the box office, cementing its position as the clear leader among the Independence Day weekend releases. The sequel to the 2007 cult classic has delivered a career-best opening for Hashmi, building significant momentum on its second day after an impressive first-day performance.
Its global opening collection already stands at Rs 28 crore, with expectations to push well past the Rs 30 crore mark as the weekend progresses.
On its opening day, "Awarapan 2" garnered an estimated Rs 21 crore net from the Indian box office, marking a substantial success. This figure significantly surpasses the earnings of its predecessor, highlighting the anticipation for the sequel.

While "Batwara 1947" aims for a robust worldwide gross, it clearly trails behind the dominant performance of "Awarapan 2" in this crowded festive weekend.
