The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting below-normal rainfall across India for September, signaling a challenging end to the monsoon season. This projection comes after an already deficient monsoon period from June to August, with August being recorded as the warmest ever.
The cumulative rainfall deficit over these months raises significant concerns for the agricultural sector and could lead to increased irrigation costs nationwide.
