Tragedy Strikes: Andy Williams, ETID Guitarist & "The Butcher" Wrestler, Dies at 48

The music and wrestling worlds are mourning the sudden loss of Andy Williams, the founding rhythm guitarist for metalcore band Every Time I Die and a professional wrestler known as “The Butcher.” Williams passed away at the age of 48 after collapsing at the end of a tag team match on Saturday at an Enjoy Wrestling event in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Emergency medical personnel on staff immediately tended to Williams, administering CPR until an ambulance arrived.

Tragically, he died Saturday night, as confirmed by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office to TMZ. The cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed.

Before his impactful career in professional wrestling, Williams was a cornerstone of the Buffalo metalcore scene.

He co-founded Every Time I Die in 1998 and remained with the band until their disbandment in 2022. During his tenure, he contributed to all nine of the band's studio albums, including their critically acclaimed 2021 release, "Radical." His unique style and powerful stage presence were instrumental to ETID's distinctive sound. Williams began training for professional wrestling in the 2010s, initially working the independent circuits.

His passion and talent quickly led him to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he made his debut as “The Butcher” in 2019, forming a formidable tag team.

He was highly respected by his peers for his dedication and successful transition between two demanding professions.

AEW released a heartfelt statement expressing their sorrow: “All Elite Wrestling is saddened to learn of the passing of Andy Williams, aka The Butcher.
