Woman jailed for 25-year 'house slave' abuse in Gloucester

In a Gloucestershire courtroom, 56-year-old Amanda Wixon was jailed after a 25-year history of abuse against a teenage girl kept at home as a 'house slave'.

The court heard that over decades the victim endured coercive control and physical harm, including beatings with a broom handle, in a form of confinement that spanned much of the girl’s adolescence and early adulthood.

Wixon, who faced charges including false imprisonment and assault, was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The case was described by the judge as Dickensian in its brutality, underscoring the long-term isolation and abuse suffered by the victim within her own home.
