Bay Of Bengal Storm Warning Collides

The India Meteorological Department has sounded a strong alert. A low-pressure system is forming over the southeast Bay of Bengal on November 22. It is expected to intensify into a depression by November 24. Meteorologists say the system could strengthen further as it moves into deeper waters. Heavy rainfall is forecast for Tamil Nadu coastal Andhra Pradesh Kerala and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rainfall has already been recorded in several regions. Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu measured 14 cm. Long Island in Andaman reported 8 cm. Minicoy in Lakshadweep saw 7 cm. These figures confirm the growing intensity of the weather system.

Warnings are in place across multiple states. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued. Thunderstorms lightning and strong winds are expected. Fishermen have been advised to avoid storm prone zones in the Bay of Bengal and adjoining seas for five days. Disaster response teams are preparing for possible escalation.
