IndiGo appoints ex-Air India Express head as chief strategy officer
IndiGo taps Aloke Singh, former Air India Express MD, to lead long-term strategy and enterprise-wide transformation as the airline eye's growth and a broader global footprint.
New Delhi — IndiGo has appointed Aloke Singh, the former head of Air India Express, as chief strategy officer. In this role, Singh will lead the airline’s long-term strategic planning and drive enterprise-wide transformation to accelerate growth, boost operational efficiency and sharpen competitive positioning in a rapidly evolving global aviation landscape. He will partner closely with the leadership team on cross-functional priorities designed to improve agility, elevate customer experience and deliver sustainable shareholder value.
Singh brings more than three decades of aviation experience spanning strategy, planning, operations and commercial functions. He has led operational and cultural transformation programmes, and previously held senior strategy roles at Air India and Oman Air.
IndiGo’s managing director Rahul Bhatia praised Singh’s blend of strategic vision and operational depth, saying his deep understanding of the aviation ecosystem will be invaluable as the airline enters its next phase of growth. For now, Aloke will report to the managing director. Once the next CEO assumes office, he will transition to reporting to the new Chief Executive.
Singh said he is delighted to join IndiGo at such a pivotal moment for Indian aviation and believes the airline is taking its ambitions global. He looks forward to sharpening its strategic direction, doubling down on operational excellence and expanding the airline’s markets worldwide.
