Dolly Parton’s estate has announced an exciting two-day festival, “Dollyfest,” set to take place across consecutive weekends in Nashville and London in 2027. This grand event will celebrate the enduring legacy of the beloved country icon, who recently passed away at the age of 80 after a battle with cancer.

Originally, “Dollyfest” was envisioned as a spectacular 80th birthday celebration for Parton in January 2026, with the star herself planning to host and perform. However, following her passing, the festival has been thoughtfully repurposed to honor her incredible life and contributions to music and culture.

Danny Nozell, founder and CEO of CTK Enterprises and the event's organizer, shared in a statement,

A lot of people always say, WWDD (What Would Dolly Do?), and, well, at this moment, Dollyfest is WDWD (What Dolly Would Do!)

In line with Dolly Parton's personal wishes, there will be no public memorial ceremony. The Associated Press confirmed that a private service was held last Friday, attended exclusively by her immediate family. Nozell explained the decision, stating, "We are not discouraging people from celebrating Dolly in the ways they choose.

However, as far as a traditional memorial goes, that is not something Dolly wanted.”

He added,

So, instead, it feels more appropriate for us to take a beat, let all the tributes that immediately make sense occur naturally, and then, see through this festival-style concept that was truly dreamed up by Dolly.

On Saturday, her great-niece, Lainey Parton, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, noting she waited until after her "granny was laid to rest" before speaking publicly. This festival promises to be a fitting tribute, ensuring Dolly Parton’s vibrant spirit and philanthropic heart continue to inspire generations.
