D4vd has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
During the preliminary hearing, prosecutors detailed a series of text messages exchanged between D4vd and Celeste just one day before her death. These messages, presented in court, depicted a heated argument where Celeste allegedly threatened D4vd. The dispute reportedly stemmed from Celeste's anger over D4vd's friendship with Aysia Collins and the fact that Aysia had visited his Hollywood Hills home.
Court testimony indicated that Celeste sent several threatening messages to D4vd, reportedly threatening to kill him, strangle him, damage his career, and even cause him physical harm. However, the tone of their conversation dramatically shifted by the next day. The messages became much friendlier, leading to D4vd arranging an Uber to bring Celeste to his residence.
At 10:02 p.m., Celeste texted that she was almost there and asked if he was home to open the door. Just eight minutes later, D4vd replied, stating the gate was open and the door was unlocked. According to prosecutors, Celeste never sent another message after that. D4vd's defense, however, highlighted Celeste's alleged threats in court.
Court records also showed that after Celeste stopped replying, D4vd continued sending her messages, asking about her whereabouts, saying "hello," and questioning if she had blocked him. He even mentioned calling someone named Jen while still awaiting a reply from Celeste. Prosecutors claim D4vd fatally stabbed and dismembered Celeste, whose remains were later found in a Tesla registered to his address. D4vd remains in custody without bail as the legal proceedings continue.
