Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth Returns, But Fans Are Complaining About The Trailer!
The highly anticipated trailer for 'The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth' is out! Brad Pitt reprises his Oscar-winning role, but social media is buzzing with a major complaint about the footage. Get the details!
Hollywood is abuzz with the release of the trailer for “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth,” which sees Brad Pitt step back into his Oscar-winning role as the enigmatic stuntman. However, the excitement is being overshadowed by a wave of complaints from fans regarding the trailer’s visual quality.
The film, set to hit IMAX theaters on November 25th before its Netflix debut on December 23rd, is a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 hit, “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.” Directed by David Fincher and written by Tarantino, the movie picks up with Cliff Booth in 1977, eight years after the original events, as he navigates the gritty world as a Hollywood fixer.
Despite the star power and acclaimed creative team, social media users were quick to express their disappointment. A recurring criticism targets the trailer's dark and murky aesthetic. One fan on X bluntly stated, “They f ed up using dark tinted camera effect.
Not sure why they keep doing this.” Another user sarcastically quipped,
I was still able to see something. Please work on the grading and make it darker before it releases.
The sentiment was perfectly captured by a meme from the original movie, quoting Bruce Dern's character George Spahn: “Can't see s .” Some even urged Fincher to “hire a gaffer to crank up the light level and hire a [Director of Photography] that's not color blind.”
Quentin Tarantino, known for cinematic masterpieces like “Pulp Fiction” and “Inglourious Basterds,” has also announced a novelization of the story, titled “The Adventures of Cliff Booth.” This follows his previous novelization of “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,” which notably clarified the ambiguity surrounding Cliff Booth’s past, confirming he had indeed gotten away with his wife’s murder. Tarantino expressed his anticipation, stating, “Can’t wait for audiences to see and read Cliff Booth’s further adventures.”
While Tarantino penned the script and oversees the project, he opted not to direct this sequel, indicating his desire to explore new territory for his potential final film.
His previous work includes film criticism and autobiography “Cinema Speculation,” demonstrating his diverse creative endeavors beyond directing.
