Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled off a tense 10-run win over Chennai Super Kings in a pulsating IPL clash, with death-overs bowling by Eshan Malinga and Shivang Kumar turning the tables in SRH's favor. CSK, chasing 195, were pegged back after a quick-fire start, eventually finishing on 184 for 8.
SRH had set the stage with 194 for 9, built on Abhishek Sharma's fiery 59 off 22 and Heinrich Klaasen's 59. The pair gave SRH a strong platform after a wobble, enabling a defendable total.
Sanju Samson began SRH's chase with a bold first-ball six, while Ayush Mhatre looked bright for CSK with 30 off 13 before a hamstring issue slowed him. Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 19 off 12 for CSK, but the chase never gained momentum.
Late in CSK's innings, Sarfaraz Khan (25 off 19) and Matthew Short (34 off 30) stitched a 46-run stand, yet the required rate kept climbing. Dewald Brevis fell for a duck while the middle order faltered at key moments.
Praful Hinge steadied SRH at the death, conceding just seven runs in the final over as CSK's push ended short of the target. Malinga's mix of yorkers and smart lengths, plus Shivang Kumar's turn, kept the batters under pressure throughout the chase.
