Vijay Slams AIADMK-DMK 'Alliance' at By-election Rally
Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay ignites political fire at a Dharapuram bypoll rally, accusing AIADMK of a secret alliance with the 'evil' DMK. Explosive claims and emotional moments in the high-stakes election battle!
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C Joseph Vijay launched a scathing attack on opposition parties at a bypoll rally in the AIADMK stronghold of Dharapuram constituency on Wednesday. Vijay reiterated his allegations that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) plans to form a coalition with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), a party he consistently labels as an “evil force.”
Addressing a passionate crowd while campaigning for TVK's nominee P Sathyabama, Vijay asserted that such an alliance would be a betrayal of both MG Ramachandran and former CM J Jayalalithaa, the revered leaders of AIADMK.
Whom was MGR going against when he formed his party? And against whom did Jayalalithaa take a political stand? It is this evil force DMK,
he challenged, questioning how true followers of MGR could accept such a “conspiracy.”
Vijay, who travelled from Coimbatore to Dharapuram in Tiruppur district, turning his journey into an impromptu roadshow, also accused the DMK of harboring a “monarchical mindset.” He defended Sathyabama’s move to TVK, stating she properly resigned from her AIADMK MLA post before switching parties. Sathyabama, visibly emotional during her address, spoke about being targeted with “obscene words” and baseless allegations after her political shift.
In response to Vijay’s accusations, DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan dismissed them, alleging that the Chief Minister’s attacks on the DMK were dictated by the BJP-led Centre. Elangovan sarcastically referred to Vijay as “the biggest and the best slave the BJP has in Tamil Nadu.” AIADMK leaders, however, did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the claims.
