Sources indicate that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had previously communicated its stance to the ACC regarding this matter. Following their dominant victory over Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final, the Indian squad was seen celebrating their win together on the field but did not participate in the official trophy handover from Naqvi.
