Health Ministry, WHO Launch Delhi Metro Campaign for Women’s Health
MoHFW and WHO launch a month-long Delhi Metro campaign to boost women's health and safety, mental health support, digital inclusion, PC-PNDT awareness, and TB awareness.
In a bid to reach millions of daily commuters, India's Health Ministry and the World Health Organization launched a month-long health campaign inside the Delhi Metro, starting at Sultanpur station. The initiative focuses on women's health and well-being, with messages across trains and select stations about safety, mental health support, digital inclusion, as well as information on Pre-Conception and Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) and tuberculosis awareness.
Officials said the campaign will run through December and January, leveraging the metro's vast reach to empower women and girls across the capital. Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava described the collaboration with WHO as a way to ensure critical health messages meet commuters where they travel daily.
Materials will be displayed on digital screens, posters, and announcements, and partners hope to spark conversations about gender-based safety, access to mental health resources, and the importance of TB screening and treatment. The campaign will be visible on metro trains and at selected stations, including Sultanpur, to maximize visibility during peak hours.
This effort aligns with broader strategies to improve reproductive health awareness, digital inclusion, and community well-being, reinforcing that women's health is a public priority in the national capital.
