The Iced Coffee Motivation: Poetry in the Everyday
The Iced Coffee Motivation: Poetry in the Everyday
Convincing yourself that buying a $7 iced latte is an essential, non-negotiable mental health investment...
the bank account is whispering please stop,
the brain is screaming we need the dopamine,
so i stand in line like it’s a holy ritual,
paying seven whole dollars for brown water, oat milk,
and a micro-dose of sanity.
it’s not just beverage, it’s emotional support,
a liquid reward for simply existing
in a world that demands two years of experience
for an entry-level job that pays in exposure.
first sip hits, sweet, cold, electric,
suddenly i am the main character again,
capable of answering three whole emails
and pretending i have my life entirely figured out.
