Massive Neasden Fire: Smoke Shuts Down London Transport Near Wembley!

A colossal fire at an industrial estate in Neasden, North London, has caused widespread disruption across the capital, with a massive plume of smoke visible for miles around. Over 125 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) are currently battling the blaze at a mixed waste facility, situated perilously close to Wembley Stadium.

First reported around 11:34 AM, the LFB has received over 90 calls concerning the incident. The scale of the fire, engulfing an industrial unit approximately 100m by 150m, has led to significant public safety warnings. Residents in the area have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed and remain indoors where possible, due to the heavy smoke.

The inferno has severely impacted London's transport network.

The entire Metropolitan line on the Tube was forced to close, and parts of the Jubilee line faced partial suspension and severe delays. Commuters also faced major disruption to rail services to and from London Marylebone station, which was evacuated.

Delays and cancellations are expected to persist for services to Aylesbury and beyond, lasting until the end of the day.

LFB assistant commissioner Andy Pennick has described the incident as "protracted," indicating that crews will remain on scene for the remainder of the day to fully extinguish the fire. While footage suggests a reduction in smoke, the blaze is not yet officially under control. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

Live coverage of the event has been suspended for the evening, but significant travel disruptions are expected to continue.
