The new feature, which went live on Friday, lets customers schedule couriers to pick up retail items bought through the Uber Eats app and receive instant refunds at pickup for eligible purchases. This trailblazing service aims to simplify the usually tedious process of returning items without leaving home.
The returns are currently available for items worth $20 or more from retailers including Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Petco. Once a pickup is scheduled, a courier will collect the item from the customer’s home, start the refund process at pickup, and complete the transaction with an instant refund if the item qualifies. A courier fee does apply, and not all products or retailers may be eligible, signaling that there are limitations to the rollout.
