Satara Doctor's Suicide Note Alleges Rape, Harassment by Cop and Colleague
A 28-year-old doctor from Beed, posted in Phaltan, left a palm note accusing a sub-inspector and a software engineer of rape and harassment, sparking a police probe.
A 28-year-old doctor from Beed district, posted at a government hospital in Phaltan, Satara district, was found dead in a hotel room on October 23, 2025. On October 25, the police detained Prashant Bankar, named in a palm-written note by the doctor, as the investigation begins. The note also accuses sub-inspector Gopal Badane of raping her on multiple occasions and states Bankar mentally harassed her. A case has been registered at the Phaltan city police station, and the investigation is ongoing. Badane has been suspended from service as the probe unfolds, while Bankar remains in custody as officers pursue leads.
