The accident occurred around 8.30 a.m. when the OHM Mobility-operated BMTC bus, heading from Kempegowda Bus Station (KBS) to Attibele, was allegedly hit from behind by a Tata Smart Mobility electric bus from Depot-3.
While passengers in the OHM Mobility bus were unhurt, five passengers from the Tata Smart Mobility bus suffered minor injuries and were promptly shifted to St. Martha's Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Tata Smart Mobility bus also sustained injuries but is reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, both damaged buses were removed to restore normal traffic flow. Senior BMTC officials, along with representatives from Tata Smart Mobility, quickly arrived at the scene to supervise rescue operations and ensure timely medical assistance for the injured.
Later, Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh, Transport Secretary Deepa Cholan, and BMTC Managing Director Raghunandan Murthy visited St. Martha's Hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured. BMTC has stated it will provide all necessary assistance to the affected individuals and their families.
