Delhi Launches Free Pink Mobility Card for Women

President Droupadi Murmu will launch the Free Pink Mobility Card in Delhi on Monday, March 2, at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium as part of the city government's initiative to boost women's mobility. The rollout will also include a scheme called 'Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Delhi' that offers two free LPG cylinders annually to all ration card-holding families.

Delhi’s Pink Smart Card is a digital, QR-based card issued to women and transgender residents. It carries the applicant’s name, photo, QR code, card ID, and basic details and enables free travel on DTC buses. It can also be used for paid travel on the Metro, Regional Rapid Transit System, and other public transport services. Around 50 centres—including district magistrate and sub-divisional magistrate offices and selected DTC locations—will issue the card. The pink card will be linked to the beneficiary’s mobile number and Aadhaar to verify age, gender, and Delhi residency. Eligibility includes Delhi residency, being a woman or transgender, age above 12, and possessing valid ID and address proof. Applicants can apply by visiting the official Delhi Transport or DTC portal, filling the form, uploading documents, submitting, verifying, and then downloading a confirmation page.

Alongside the pink card launch, the government is unveiling the LPG cylinder scheme which provides two free cylinders annually to ration-card holders in Delhi, marking the broader push to support women and families in daily life. The event signals a combined push on mobility and household energy security, with officials promising smooth rollout and prompt issuance of cards.
