Welbeck Nets First Chelsea Goal as Blues Conquer Luton in Carabao Cup!

Chelsea kicked off their Carabao Cup campaign with a solid 2-0 win against League One side Luton at Stamford Bridge. Danny Welbeck stole the spotlight, opening his goalscoring account for the Blues, much to the delight of the home supporters who also serenaded manager Xabi Alonso for the first time in his Chelsea tenure.

The match saw a surprisingly strong Chelsea lineup, though notable absentee Enzo Fernandez fueled speculation about an imminent transfer bid from Manchester City.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was also benched, making way for 21-year-old Belgian Mike Penders' debut between the sticks.

Later, Estevao's cross was unfortunately turned into his own net by Luton defender Hakeem Odoffin, sealing Chelsea's 2-0 victory. Young talents like Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, and Estevao also featured prominently, with Estevao making his first start of the season and showcasing impressive play.

Luton, managed by former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere, put up an organized defense but struggled to truly threaten Chelsea's dominance.
