A significant breakthrough has been made in the shocking murder case of Punjabi social media influencer and LGBTQ activist, Mad Sandhu. Authorities announced on Thursday the arrest of Parminder Kaka, also known as Parminder Prasad, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He has been identified as the alleged shooter responsible for Sandhu's brutal killing in Amritsar on October 3.
Crime branch officials revealed that Parminder not only fired the fatal shots but also arranged the motorcycle used in the attack. This crucial arrest marks a major step forward in bringing justice for Sandhu, whose death sent shockwaves through the community.
Mad Sandhu, whose real name was Madhusudan Sandhu, was a well-known figure with a vibrant presence online.
As a makeup artist, stylist, and content creator from Amritsar, he amassed over 2.4 lakh followers on Instagram. He was openly vocal about LGBTQ issues, makeup trends, and the Punjabi film industry, even acting in the 2024 Punjabi film 'Oye Bhole Oye'.
Reports indicate he was slated to enter Bigg Boss as a wildcard and had previously sought police protection, highlighting potential threats he faced.
The investigation is now delving deeper into a possible sinister connection: links to gangster Goldy Dhillon's international network. A day after Sandhu's murder, a social media post, purportedly from Dhillon and his associate Jagga Tarn Taran, surfaced claiming responsibility.
This chilling post alleged that Sandhu was targeted for "corrupting the younger generation" and ominously warned other digital creators, event organizers, and those who ignore extortion demands.
Sandhu was ambushed and shot at close range by two men on a motorcycle outside a car wash in Amritsar. He tragically succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
Police recovered empty shell casings and have been meticulously examining CCTV footage and Sandhu's phone records.
Officials had previously indicated that Sandhu was under surveillance prior to the attack.
This arrest brings hope for further revelations in this complex and sensitive case.
