Delhi Brigadier Assault: Suspects Arrested as Security Tightens
Two men arrested after an assault on Brigadier P.S. Arora and his son in south Delhi; FIR filed 45 hours later as the LG orders enhanced security for the family.
An incident outside a south Delhi home on Saturday night left a serving Brigadier and his son facing assault allegations, prompting a police FIR roughly 45 hours after the incident. The Army officer’s wife, Nitasha Arora, says the attack occurred after she and others objected to a group drinking outside the house, with the assault taking place in the presence of police personnel whom they had called.
Police say two men, Satender, alias Sonu, 49, and Sanjay Sharma, 56, were arrested in connection with the case. The deputy commissioner of police (south-west) confirmed the arrests and said the investigation is ongoing.
In a complaint to the police, Nitasha Arora stated that the assault happened in the presence of law enforcers; the FIR was registered Monday evening after the incident on Saturday night.
Delhi Lt Governor expressed deep concern over the incident and has ordered cops to provide full security to the Army officer's family, signaling top-level attention to the case.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns about the safety of serving military personnel and governance of public disturbances around private residences in the capital, with authorities moving to identify and prosecute those involved.
