Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo is gearing up to host "Daisy Chain Fields," a brand new all-woman music festival aimed at supporting charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls. The 23-year-old Grammy winner announced the star-studded line-up, featuring music legends and rising stars, on Monday.
Set to take place on August 29 in Irvine, California, the festival promises an unforgettable day of music with an incredible roster of talent. Fans can look forward to performances from iconic artists like Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan, alongside contemporary favorites such as Chappell Roan, Doechii, K-Pop sensation Katseye, and Rachel Chinouriri. Rodrigo shared her excitement on Instagram, posting promotional artwork that prominently included a flower of pins, one boldly stating "Bans off our bodies" – a clear nod to the ongoing US abortion rights campaign.
Rodrigo expressed her long-held dream to create such an event, stating, "Truly never felt more excited to share a piece of news with you all. I’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and I am so ecstatic its finally coming true!!" She emphasized the festival’s mission, confirming that "100 per cent of the net proceeds will go to charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls."
The singer also shared her deep admiration for the artists joining her, calling them her "heroes and friends." She believes in the power of collective joy, community, and music to drive meaningful change, hoping "this festival will be just that." Rodrigo concluded her announcement with enthusiastic anticipation: "I absolutely cannot wait to scream and dance and sing with you guys August 29th!!!!"
This exciting announcement follows a period of immense success for Rodrigo. Just weeks prior, her third studio album, "You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love," topped the UK album chart, achieving her biggest opening week yet. Her previous albums, "Sour" (2021) and "Guts," also garnered critical acclaim, commercial success, and multiple Grammy wins, including a memorable headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival almost a year ago. "Daisy Chain Fields" marks another significant step in Rodrigo's career, blending her musical passion with a powerful philanthropic endeavor.
