Bengaluru Police on Tuesday announced a comprehensive security framework for the IPL 2026 matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, with games scheduled for March 28 and April 5. City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh outlined the plan, emphasizing crowd safety, orderly entry, and traffic management under the banner Cheer responsibly, celebrate responsibly.
To ease traffic congestion and promote public transport, authorities have introduced a QR code-based e-ticketing system. The ticket includes a metro pass, allowing spectators to commute conveniently across the city.
Officials say the security overhaul is designed to deliver a safe and orderly IPL experience, with emphasis on minimizing traffic disruption while encouraging spectators to use public transport where possible.
