High-Tech Cheating: Professor Used Endoscopic Camera for Exam Leak!
A professor and five students were arrested in Chhattisgarh for a shocking exam paper leak involving an endoscopic camera. Discover how this high-tech scam unfolded, affecting 1,500 students!
In a shocking revelation that has rocked the academic world, a professor and five students have been arrested in Chhattisgarh for their alleged involvement in a sophisticated exam paper leak. The scandal, which centers around an entomology question paper from the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), involved the use of an endoscopic camera, a method described by police as a high-tech approach to academic fraud.
The professor, identified as 38-year-old Yogesh Sonkesariya from Bharti Agriculture College in Durg, stands accused of orchestrating the elaborate scheme. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Cyber) Smruthik Rajanala, Sonkesariya received the sealed exam paper envelope on August 17. Instead of breaking the seal, he allegedly inserted a miniature endoscopic camera through a tiny hole, capturing images of the entire one-page document. After obtaining the questions, he reportedly used glue to reseal the envelope, making it appear untouched. These images were then shared with the five arrested students before the scheduled exam on August 20.
This wasn't an isolated incident. Authorities also suspect the accused were involved in leaking another question paper for an examination held on August 7. The most recent leak led to the cancellation of the agricultural entomology exam, AENT 221 (Pest Management in crops and stored grains-I (Rabi Crops)), affecting approximately 1,500 second-year B.Sc. (Agriculture) students enrolled in various colleges affiliated with IGKV, a government-run university.
The university administration acted swiftly, filing a police complaint after an email circulating on August 20, detailing the leak, reached officials at the Agriculture College and Research Centre in Kawardha. The Chhattisgarh High Court has weighed in on the severity of such offenses, stating that a question paper leak is “more heinous than murder,” underscoring the deep impact on academic integrity and students' futures. The investigation continues as police delve deeper into the full extent of this complex cheating operation.
