Horrific Acid Attack in UP: Man Ambushes Ex-Fiancée & Sister After Wedding Called Off

A shocking and disturbing incident has rocked Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, where a man allegedly carried out a heinous acid attack on his former fiancée and her sister after their engagement was called off. The accused, identified as Harsh Bhati, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony in Hapur, was reportedly apprehended by the victims' family members immediately after the assault and subsequently handed over to the police.

The harrowing event unfolded on Saturday night. According to the victims' father, his daughter's marriage had been fixed with Bhati. However, the family later made the painful decision to call off the alliance after discovering Bhati's alleged addiction to drugs, a revelation that understandably led to concerns about their daughter's future.

Driven by apparent vengeance, Bhati allegedly arrived at the young woman's home armed with acid.

As soon as the door was opened, he reportedly hurled the corrosive liquid at his former fiancée. When her sister bravely attempted to intervene and protect her, she too became a target, suffering severe burns from the acid.

The screams of the two sisters alerted their family members, who swiftly moved to restrain Bhati as he tried to flee the scene. Personnel from the Simbhawali police station quickly responded to the incident, taking Bhati into custody. Both sisters sustained serious injuries in the attack and were immediately admitted to a local hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Their condition and recovery journey remain a primary concern for their family and the community.

Circle Officer Rahul Yadav confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint filed by the victims' family.

The accused, Harsh Bhati, is currently undergoing questioning by law enforcement officials as they delve deeper into the motives and circumstances surrounding this brutal act.
