Gift Nifty Up 46 Points as Markets Eye Early Gains
Markets open higher as Gift Nifty climbs 46 points, tracking global gains and IT resilience amid AI optimism.
Indian equity benchmarks are set to open with mild gains on Tuesday, after snapping a five-session losing run in the last trading session on the back of trade-related optimism and steady early earnings from IT majors. Nifty futures on the NSE International Exchange traded 46 points, or 0.16 per cent, up at 25,922, hinting at a positive start for the domestic market.
Global cues supported the mood, with Asian stocks rising as investors cheered AI-driven growth prospects. The Nikkei surged nearly 3.5 per cent, Hang Seng gained more than a per cent, and the KOSPI inched higher. In the U.S., major indices extended gains as the Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq logged advances, while the dollar index hovered near the 98.9 mark. Gold briefly traded above $4,600 an ounce before easing, and oil prices climbed to seven-week highs amid supply concerns linked to Iran.
Traders will be watching geopolitical developments and early earnings from Indian technology leaders for clues on sustained momentum. Market watchers note that sentiment has turned cautiously constructive, supported by improving risk appetite and the expectation that policy and earnings momentum could keep the market in recovery mode.
Back home, the focus will stay on key levels for Nifty, Sensex, and Nifty Bank as investors balance optimism with global volatility and domestic developments. While the day hints at a positive bias, participants acknowledge that the road ahead remains sensitive to policy cues and foreign flows.
