Urgent Beef Recall: 30,000 Lbs of Uninspected Argentine Meat in US Stores!

An urgent recall has been issued for nearly 30,000 pounds of raw beef products imported from Argentina, distributed across Florida and Texas. The Florida-based meat supplier, Corte Argentino USA, is behind the recall of approximately 29,628 pounds of beef that entered the United States without undergoing the mandatory import reinspection process.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall, stating that the raw beef skipped crucial inspection steps. Typically, imported products are checked for documentation, labeling, packaging, and condition, and are sometimes sampled for contamination after being met by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service at the border. However, in this instance, the beef went directly to distributors and retailers without this vital check, a lapse discovered during routine FSIS inspections.

The affected products were produced between May 15 and May 20, with “use-by” or “freeze-by” dates ranging from September 15 to September 20. These items include various cuts of boneless beef, such as Top Sirloin Butt (Cuadril Sin Tapa), Eye Round (Peceto), Topside Cap Off (Nalga AD S/Tapa), Flat (Carnaza Cuadrada), and Knuckle (Bola de Lomo). They bear the Argentinian establishment number EST. N° OF. 2025 and a shipping mark of 26644-AA, and were packaged in cardboard boxes of various weights.

Consumers who may have purchased these products are strongly advised not to consume them. Instead, FSIS recommends either throwing the products away or returning them to the place of purchase. Fortunately, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries linked to the consumption of the recalled beef products to date.
