At the India Today AI Summit 2026, Lalitesh Katragadda, founder of Indihod.com and advisor to MeitY, outlined India's AI mission at scale. He spoke of an 'infinity era' where AI bridges gaps in healthcare, education and public services for 1.4 billion citizens. Katragadda highlighted how India-built AI, designed at Indian price points and for vast diversity, can democratize access, empower small businesses, reshape digital commerce through AI agents, and position India as a global provider of scalable, socially impactful AI solutions.
In another session, Rubrik CEO Bipul Sinha cautioned that AI offers a '100x opportunity and 100x risk.' He stressed the need for disciplined execution and strong guardrails, noting that data security and digital trust are essential to deploying AI with confidence at scale in healthcare, education and business.
MIT Media Lab’s Ramesh Raskar envisioned citizen-centric AI, imagining a future where every Indian has a personal AI agent similar to Aadhaar. He described a rural elderly woman planning a Kumbh Mela trip with her AI agent, coordinating travel, food and health preferences, and noted that decentralized AI agents could interact to democratize services at scale.
The summit also served as a talent hunt, with executives from Reliance Industries and Adani Group using the event to identify and hire promising young engineers.
