Bellingham Crowns Kane 'Best England Player Ever' After Heroics!
Harry Kane delivers a masterclass for England with two goals and an assist, earning Jude Bellingham's ultimate praise. Discover England's path to the Nations League quarter-finals!
England captain Harry Kane delivered a sensational performance on Tuesday night, scoring twice and setting up another goal, prompting teammate Jude Bellingham to declare him “the best player to have worn the shirt.” Kane's heroics came during England's dominant 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic in a Nations League fixture at Wembley, a night that also saw him equal Peter Shilton’s record for the most appearances for the Three Lions on his 125th cap.
Bellingham, speaking to ITV after the match, was full of praise for his captain.
I can only talk from my perspective and first and foremost he is an unbelievable human being,
Bellingham stated. “As a captain, as a man, he looks after every single person. He's the one to take responsibility off the pitch.” He continued, emphasizing Kane's on-field brilliance, “And on the pitch he's the best England player to have worn the shirt.
It's an honour to play with him.” Bellingham highlighted Kane's current form, noting, “He's playing at a level that is unmatched. He's scoring goals for fun, he's dropping deep and playing passes in behind and contributing, making tackles and everything. He's only getting better.”
Manager Thomas Tuchel echoed Bellingham's sentiments, albeit with a concise and smiling affirmation when asked about Kane's contribution. “It's what he does. I don't take it for granted,” Tuchel said. “He is just exceptional every single match. It's difficult to find words for him.” Kane's second goal was a penalty, and he also played a key role in the third, with Vladimir Coufal deflecting his cross into his own net.
The 3-0 win at Wembley follows a 2-0 victory against the Czech Republic in the reverse fixture and a resounding 7-0 demolition of Croatia away from home. These results place Tuchel's side second in Group A3, trailing only World Cup winners Spain, who defeated England 3-2 in the opening game of this international window.
England now only needs to avoid an 8-0 defeat to Croatia at home in the November international break to secure their spot in the Nations League quarter-finals, set for March.
Spain has already guaranteed their progression.
