Heartbreaking: 13-Year-Old Allegedly Gang-Raped in Jharkhand's Gumla

A wave of shock and horror has swept through Jharkhand's Gumla district following the alleged gang-rape and brutal assault of a 13-year-old girl. The horrifying incident came to light after the victim's father filed a police complaint, stating his daughter was found lying unconscious outside their home on the night of Thursday, September 24, 2026.

According to the father's complaint, filed on Friday, September 25, 2026, his daughter was gang-raped and mercilessly beaten by an unidentified group of men. The police have since registered a First Information Report (FIR) at Palkot police station based on this grave allegation.

Following the discovery, the young girl was first taken to Simdega Sadar Hospital.

From there, she was referred to Gumla Sadar Hospital, and ultimately, due to the severity of her condition, transferred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for specialized medical care, where she is currently recovering. Palkot police station in-charge Ankit Raj confirmed that a police team has been dispatched to RIMS in Ranchi to obtain the girl's medical report.

"Rape can only be confirmed after the medical report is received," Raj stated, emphasizing the procedural steps being followed in the investigation. While the father's complaint alleges a gang-rape and assault, he did not specify the number of individuals involved in the heinous crime.

Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation has been launched into the case, with efforts underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for this horrific act.
